Farewell to Blogging

Like they say, "All Good Things Must Come to an End".

I've enjoyed blogging over the many year and have made some really wonderful friends -- some that I consider life-long close friends despite the miles.  Our time on thee ole Homeschool Blogger was the BEST, and Blogger has been good too, but time flies and it's just not the same.

Within most of my circle of friends, our homeschooled kiddos are now in their high school years & beyond -- some are even married and homeschooling their own which makes me feel old!  Gone are the days of sharing homeschool curriculums, the excitement of "box day", and all the laughs & learning.  Poo!  I really loved homeschooling and still miss it immensely!

My life has opened a new chapter and a much slower pace.  Personally, I have very little to blog about anymore, and/or in this day & age, perhaps it's best to keep our lives a little more concealed from those with lesser intent.  There are things that I'd like to share, but it seems to take me a lot more time & effort than most to post, and being my readership has dwindled to practically "0", I'm basically just talking to myself which is kinda boring.

At least I still keep up with my dearest friends in emails and on Facebook; although the momentum seems to be moving away from FB because of it's extreme censorship.  I joined MeWe a while back, but haven't taken time to post or figure it out yet.  And it looks like a lot of people are moving to Parler too, which that I think I'll also join.  I'm on the fence too about leaving my Instagram account too, we will see.

So for at least this month, my "Prairie Days" blog will still be up.  I'm going to be gradually clearing out posts; copy & pasting some for my records, but eventually my blog will go away (sigh).  I will probably still have an account here so I can keep up with a few remaining bloggers, but I know most of my closest blogger friends have abandoned their blogs too, so I may just close it all out eventually.

So, I'm rather sad about leaving this chapter in my life, but I think it's time.  If you would like to stay in touch and would like my email, please leave me a message.

Thanks for the Beautiful, Lovely Memories through blogging!  It's been FUN!

Love to All.

Jane

  2. Sniff, sniff. I do know what you mean. I was hoping maybe you could blog about the cabin but at least I can keep up with you on other formats. I was thinking the other day that blogs seem to have gone out of fashion. I sure have less to talk about these days myself. Sigh. xxx Jenn

  3. Awww...dear Jane, this was a sad post! I totally understand, feel much the same, but it’s still sad! 😢 So many things changing in life and world right now and I’m sorry to see your lovely blog go, too. I’ll look up those other platforms—haven’t even heard of them. And I’m glad to still see you on IG. Thank you for all your wonderful posts and loving thoughts through the years—I feel that I know you! May the Lord bless you in all that this new season of life brings you, and may it be as satisfying and full as that past one has been. Love and {{hugs}}!

  4. Oh, Jane, no! I will miss you, and just when I'm struggling to get back to blogging. I miss it, and all of you. I see women returning to their blogs now, with the state of everything, and I'm hopeful this means wonderful things for the homemaker's blogging community. I've been seriously considering deleting my IG account; it's just too, too much not ME. I miss you already. x
