    Family

Jeff (hubby) is my one and only of 27 years.  He's a designer/inventor in a major medical Fortune 500 Corporation, but...

prefers the adventurous/sporty life and would rather be cycling or hiking/canoeing in the wilderness.   He's our fence-mender, fix-it man, and builder extraordinaire that keeps our homestead humming.  He's my go-to man for pretty much everything and our place would be in shambles without him.  I so appreciate him!

Me:  I'm all about YHWH God and Family!

I LOVE being able to live out my dream as a stay-at-home mom and housewife!  Prior to marriage I was just killing time working in a fancy-schmancy office as a paralegal/office manager, specializing in commercial real estate law.

I so LOVED being a homeschool mom, but with our daughters now grown, I must shift gears to other interests.   After faith (😍studying my Bible), family, & farm, I divide my time between redecorating our 23 yr. old builder-grade farmhouse and making our log lake cabin our home away from home.  Favorite pastimes of mine are pouring over floorplans & paint swatches, bargain shopping, cooking from scratch for nutritional & natural health, gardening, historical research, and organizing/planning.

We are doubly blessed to be the proud parents of two wonderful maidens.

Anna (L) & Amber (R), October 2017

Loves to read, especially history!
The bigger the book, the better,
and enjoys intellectual discussions.
Our perfectionist rides prim & proper, but both
horse & rider prefer bareback!
Amber is our 26 yr. old 2012 homeschool graduate.  She loves reading, playing violin & mandolin, all things vintage, riding her Paint horse, and being a farm girl.  She is a natural with children and has a real heart for orphans.  Amber ran her own cottage business, "Downy & Floral", making & selling vintage-inspired crafts (currently shelved) as she now divides her time between being a manager at a local business; leading a young ladies' Bright Lights Bible Study group (since April of 2013); and involved in a Christian orphan ministry.  Amber recently returned from the Philippines after serving three months at the orphanage: working in the office, leading a Bible Study for girls, teaching violin & home skills, and just being an influence for Christ to the children.

Artistic & Musical, yet never satisfied
with her artistry.

Cowgirl-hearted & pick-up driving, she
LOVES rodeos & rides with
reckless abandon.
Anna Grace is our 23 yr. old 2015 homeschool graduate.  She loves to have fun and has a great sense of humor, but also enjoys playing piano, guitar, ukulele and riding her Quarter Horse -- our cowgirl thru & thru!  She is a natural in the kitchen and our animal-lover
extraordinaire.  Anna has taught a bit of beginner piano, but would like to have a career with animals someday; perhaps in the area of holistic animal nutrition & behavior, and is working (online) towards a diploma.   In addition to her classes, she has a job in our area where she can assist others with farm & pets.   Anna also worked a summer as a Wrangler at a Bible camp and sometimes volunteers at animal-related functions such as the big Minnesota Horse Expo, the MN Kennel Club dog show, and FFA (Future Farmers of America)

We are a fairly conservative Christian homeschooling (retired)/homesteading family and have lived on the Minnesota prairie for 23 years now, lovin' every minute of it. We are blessed to have a 10-acre hobby farm; a fairly large organic garden; and adore our extended family — 3 horses (a Paint & 2 Quarter Horses); Barred Rock & a mixture of chickens; 2 3 4 5cats; and 1 Loveable Leonberger (giant farm dog).

God called us to homeschool before our first child was born and we have followed that leading ever since; "officially" home educating for 16+ years, graduating both our babies from our homeschool -- yet still in it for life as one never stops learning.

My goals in life are to be obedient to God and His Word, a loving helpmeet to my dear husband, and to raise our daughters to love God and His Word with all their hearts. To this end I shall be content.

My Multi-generational Vision:

Psalm 78:5-7    For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments:
